One of us is lying is a high-school murder mystery written by Karen McManus. When five students from Baywood high, Bronwyn, the straight A student, Addy, the prom queen, Cooper, the basket ball star, Nate, the bad boy, and Simon, the creator of Baywood high's gossip app all wind up in detention for getting their phones into class, but all of them insist that have never seen those phones before. When Simon suddenly has an allergic reaction, no one can find his EpiPen and he dies less than 24 hours later.
The police investigate the scene and suspect that one of the students in the room killed Simon because Simon had secrets about all of them on his computer ready to post the next day. This story has so many unexpected twists and turns that make you second-doubt your thoughts.
