Poem- From a friend to a stranger I once knew

From the person I knew from head to toe

You became the one I don't know anymore

From my partner in crime, my ride or die

You’re now a blurred memory that makes me want to cry

Maybe it’s the time that’s passed

Maybe it was a little too fast

Then again, we can’t blame time

Maybe we’re crossing an inevitable line

So, I’ll pretend we’re fine

And ignore the lurking memories of the friend I once called mine

In hope that all of the memories will one day disappear into a misty haze

And maybe then I’ll regret that they didn’t even leave a trace

So, maybe I’m no longer your favorite person or even a friend

Our amusing tale has come to an end

But I hope that in the future when you hear my name,

You’ll recall all the memories set to flame
